The Scotch-Brite™ light deburring wheel is a smooth-running, convolute-constructed wheel designed for light deburring, polishing, and finishing. Engineered with a soft construction for smoother operation, it requires less effort from the operator compared to harder wheels. This wheel is particularly effective in applications that demand a moderate degree of conformability and density to maintain critical tolerances while achieving a fine polished finish. A unique resin system minimizes smearing and reduces heat build-up, allowing the light deburring wheel to run cool and resist loading due to its non-woven web construction, thereby reducing the risk of part discoloration and warping while extending the life of the wheel. The light deburring wheel is available in fine grade abrasive and utilizes fine grade silicon carbide abrasive, a synthetic mineral known for its sharpness, commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. While silicon carbide breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it offers a superior finish. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives are distinguished by their unique surface conditioning properties, incorporating abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers.
