The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL unitized wheel measures 12" x 1/2" x 1-1/4" and features a fine grit silicon carbide abrasive. It offers a soft, conformable consistency suitable for smoothing, deburring, and finishing edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. Available in various densities and grades ranging from a very soft 2 density for conformability to a hard, aggressive 8 density for maximum cut and durability, the wheel provides a clean edge without smearing, reducing additional cleanup. Designed for use with a die grinder, it minimizes heat buildup, making it ideal for heat-sensitive materials. The wheel is filled with abrasive minerals to quickly smooth edges and is available with aluminum oxide in fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse grades, as well as silicon carbide in very fine and fine grades. Its unique surface conditioning combines abrasives with non-woven nylon fibers in an open-web material that resists loading and limits clogging, maintaining high abrasive performance throughout its life. Applications include blending and deburring, with industries served including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
