The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ light deburring wheel measures 8" x 1/2" x 3" with a fin 8s grit silicon carbide abrasive, designed as a smooth running, convolute-constructed wheel for light deburring, polishing, and finishing. It features a soft construction that requires less operator effort compared to harder wheels, offering moderate conformability and density to maintain critical tolerances while providing a fine polished finish. The wheel incorporates a unique resin system that minimizes smearing and reduces heat build-up, running cool and resisting loading due to its non-woven nylon or synthetic fiber web construction, which helps prevent part discoloration and warping while extending wheel life. This wheel uses fine grade silicon carbide, a sharp synthetic mineral ideal for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation, providing a superior finish despite faster breakdown compared to aluminum oxide. The open-web design limits fiber clogging, maintaining high abrasive performance throughout its life.
