The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ cut and polish unitized wheel measures 3" x 1/2" x 3/8" and features a fine grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral embedded in a tightly layered, durable nylon web construction available in medium to hard densities. This wheel is designed for aggressive deburring, blending, and finishing on harder metals, providing portability and an excellent option for jobs requiring small diameters and narrow widths. It replaces many conventional abrasive products such as rubber bonded wheels and small set-up wheels, delivering uniform results through its combination of aluminum oxide’s high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention with a tough, non-woven nylon or synthetic fiber system. The aluminum oxide mineral self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, extending wheel life and ensuring a smooth-running, fast-cutting wheel that runs cool and resists loading by limiting clogging. This unitized wheel performs well on a wide variety of substrates in woodworking and metalworking applications, including ferrous alloys, and its open-web design enhances cooling and load resistance to maintain consistent abrasive performance throughout the product’s life.
