The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ cut and polish unitized wheel measures 3" x 1/2" x 1/4" and features fine grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral. This tightly layered, durable unitized wheel is available in medium to hard densities, designed for aggressive deburring, blending, and finishing on harder metals and applications requiring portability. It replaces conventional abrasive products such as rubber bonded wheels and small set-up wheels. The wheel's aluminum oxide mineral, combined with a tough nylon web, provides uniform results, fast cutting, smooth running performance with low heat retention, and resistance to loading. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, long life, and ability to self-fracture exposing fresh cutting edges, suitable for a wide variety of substrates including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. The Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, offering consistent performance over the product's life. The open-web material allows the wheel to run cool and remain load resistant, enhancing abrasive mineral cutting efficiency by limiting clogging.
