The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ cut and polish unitized wheel measures 2" x 1/2" x 1/4" and features medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral. This tightly layered, durable, unitized wheel is available in medium to hard densities and is designed for aggressive deburring, blending, and finishing on harder metals as well as applications requiring portability. The wheel replaces conventional abrasive products like rubber bonded wheels and small set-up wheels, offering a smooth running, fast cutting performance that runs cool and resists loading. The aluminum oxide abrasive is chosen for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, low heat retention, and self-fracturing properties, providing long life and suitability on a wide variety of substrates including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. The wheel's non-woven nylon web structure incorporates abrasives into synthetic fibers, creating an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product’s life, and the open-web material enhances cooling and reduces clogging to maintain high cutting performance.
