The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning Disc measures 8" in diameter with a NH VFN grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This disc features durable, non-woven fiber construction that conforms well to irregular or contoured surfaces without undercutting or damaging the base material. The open-web material runs cool and resists loading, enabling prolonged operation while the evenly distributed aluminum oxide abrasives produce a high cut rate for consistent finishing. The aluminum oxide abrasive is known for its toughness, durability, and ability to self-fracture to expose fresh cutting edges during use, making it preferable over traditional abrasives like garnet, and is suitable for a wide variety of substrates including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives combine abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating a system that delivers consistent results throughout the product's life by limiting clogging of the fibers.
