The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL unitized wheel measures 3" x 1/2" x 1/4" and features aluminum oxide abrasive minerals. It is designed with a soft, conformable consistency that effectively smoothes, deburrs, and finishes the edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. Available in various densities ranging from a very soft 2 density for conformability to a hard, aggressive 8 density for maximum cut and durability, the wheel produces a clean edge without smearing, reducing the need for additional cleanup. Optimized for use with a die grinder, it minimizes heat buildup, making it suitable for heat-sensitive materials. The EXL unitized wheel comes in fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse grades when using aluminum oxide, as well as very fine and fine grades with silicon carbide. Scotch-Brite™ products incorporate abrasive minerals into non-woven nylon fibers, creating a surface conditioning system that delivers consistent results and resists loading by preventing clogging of the fibers. Typical applications include blending and deburring, serving industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
