The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Cut and Polish Wheel measures 8" x 2" x 3" with medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive, designed for aggressive blending and finishing applications. Harder than other finishing wheels, it excels at defect removal and heavy scratch blending, producing a finish with a tight scratch pattern. The aluminum oxide abrasive is favored for its fast cut-rate, long life, and durability, self-fracturing to continually expose fresh cutting edges, making it suitable for a wide range of materials including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. These cut and polish wheels feature abrasives embedded into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, forming an open-web material that resists load and limits clogging, ensuring sustained high performance. They effectively remove surface defects and coarse grindlines, blend forging marks and machining mismatches, and create a uniform grain finish. The wheels come in various diameters and widths and are compatible with robotics, inline sanders, bench motors, backstands, and centerless grinders.
