Product Details
Scotch-Brite™ EX2 deburring wheel is a convolute-constructed wheel designed for mid-range aggressiveness and hardness, suitable for deburring, edge radius, blending, polishing, and finishing applications. This deburring wheel is optimized for performance when presented with sharp edges or metal burrs. The combination of mineral aggressiveness and density hardness makes the Scotch-Brite™ EX2 wheel ideal for applications requiring moderate conformability, wheel hardness, and edge retention. A unique resin system minimizes smearing and reduces heat build-up, allowing the wheel to operate cool while resisting loading due to its open-web construction, which helps prevent part discoloration and warping, ultimately extending the wheel's lifespan. Available in fine and medium grade abrasives, the EX2 deburring wheel can be equipped with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive mineral. Silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral, is notable for its sharpness and is commonly used for low-pressure applications like paint prep and finishing, while aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral known for its high cut-rate and long life. Silicon carbide provides a finer finish but breaks down faster than aluminum oxide. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives are unique surface conditioning products incorporating abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, resulting in an abrasive system that ensures consistent performance throughout the product's life. The open-web material is load-resistant, maintaining high cutting performance by limiting clogging of the fibers. Applications for this wheel include blending, deburring, finishing, flat finishing, polishing builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines, catering to industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, and metal fabrication.
