The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ cut and polish wheel measures 12" x 2" x 5" and features medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive, designed for aggressive blending and finishing applications. Harder than other finishing wheels, these cut and polish wheels are ideal for defect removal and heavy scratch blending, producing a finish with a tight scratch pattern. The aluminum oxide abrasive is known for its fast cut-rate, long life, toughness, and durability, as it self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing a wide variety of materials including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. The wheels incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon fibers, creating a load-resistant, open-web material that limits clogging and maintains high cutting performance throughout the product's life. These wheels effectively remove surface defects, coarse grindlines, blend forging marks, and machining mismatches while leaving a uniform grain finish. Available in various diameters and widths, they can be used with robotics, inline sanders, bench motors, backstands, and centerless grinders.
