The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Cut and Polish Wheel measures 6" x 1" x 1" with a fine grit aluminum oxide abrasive, designed for aggressive blending and finishing applications. Harder than other finishing wheels, it is suitable for defect removal, heavy scratch blending, and produces a finish with a tight scratch pattern. The wheel utilizes aluminum oxide abrasive, known for its fast cut-rate and long life, making it effective for grinding, sanding, and finishing a wide variety of materials including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. The abrasive minerals are incorporated into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating an open-web, load-resistant material that limits clogging and maintains high performance. This product is ideal for removing surface defects, coarse grindlines, blending forging marks and machining mismatches while leaving a uniform grain finish. The wheel can be used with robotics, inline sanders, bench motors, backstands, and centerless grinders and is available in various diameters and widths. It is commonly applied in blending processes across industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
