The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL unitized wheel measures 3" x 1/8" x 1/4" with a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It features a soft, conformable consistency suitable for smoothing, deburring, and finishing edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The wheels come in various densities ranging from a very soft 2 density, which offers high conformability, to a hard, aggressive 8 density that provides maximum cut and durability. Designed for optimal performance on a die grinder, the wheel minimizes heat buildup, making it ideal for heat-sensitive materials. It delivers a clean edge without smearing, reducing additional cleanup and preparation. Filled with abrasive minerals, it is available in aluminum oxide grades of fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse, and silicon carbide grades of very fine and fine. Scotch-Brite™ is a surface conditioning product combining abrasive minerals with non-woven nylon fibers in an open-web, load-resistant material that limits clogging and maintains high cutting performance. Typical applications include blending and deburring across industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
