The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL unitized wheel measures 2" x 1/4" x 1/8" and features fine grit silicon carbide. It has a soft, conformable consistency designed to smooth, deburr, and finish the edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The wheels come in a range of densities and grades, from very soft 2 density for conformability to hard, aggressive 8 density for maximum cut and durability. The wheel edge can be dressed for effective deburring, finishing, and polishing of various materials. Its tough, layered, unitized construction allows operation in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions, and it resists smearing for cleaner surfaces with less preparation. Additionally, it minimizes heat build-up to reduce impact on heat-sensitive materials. The wheel is suitable for applications including blending and deburring.
