The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL Unitized Wheel measures 8" x 1/4" x 1/2" and features a fine grit silicon carbide abrasive. It has a soft, conformable consistency designed to effectively smooth, deburr, and finish the edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The unitized wheel is available in various densities ranging from very soft 2 density for conformability to a hard, aggressive 8 density for maximum cut and durability. It provides a clean edge without smearing, reducing the need for additional cleanup or preparation. Optimized for die grinder use, the EXL unitized wheel minimizes heat buildup, making it suitable for heat-sensitive materials. The wheel is filled with abrasive minerals including aluminum oxide in fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse grades, and silicon carbide in very fine and fine grades. The Scotch-Brite™ wheel incorporates abrasives within non-woven nylon fibers to create a surface conditioning product that delivers consistent performance over its life. Its open-web material is load resistant and limits clogging, ensuring high cutting performance. Applications for this product include blending and deburring, with industries served including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
