The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EX2 deburring wheel measures 8" x 1" x 3" with a fin 8s grit silicon carbide abrasive and features a convolute construction that offers mid-range aggressiveness and hardness suitable for deburring, edge radius, blending, polishing, and finishing tasks. Designed to perform best with sharp edges or metal burrs, it combines a high-performance mineral composition for aggressiveness and density for hardness, providing moderate conformability, wheel hardness, and edge retention. The wheel incorporates a unique resin system that minimizes smearing and reduces heat build-up, running cool and resisting loading due to its open-web construction, which helps prevent part discoloration and warping while extending wheel life. Available in fine and medium abrasive grades with silicon carbide or aluminum oxide minerals, the silicon carbide option is sharp and ideal for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation and finishing, producing a finer finish but breaking down faster than the aluminum oxide, which delivers high cut-rate and long life. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives combine abrasives with non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers to form a surface conditioning system that maintains consistent performance throughout the product's life. This open-web design promotes cool running and load resistance, preventing fiber clogging and sustaining abrasive cut rates.
