Constructed as a convolute wheel with a combination of mineral grades and a soft density, it is suited for final finishing applications requiring high conformability and less density. This wheel is ideal for producing #3 or #4 finishes on curved, contoured, and flat surfaces and operates cool with resistance to loading due to its open-web construction, which reduces the risk of part discoloration and warping while extending wheel life. Available in coarse, medium, and fine abrasive grades, the silicon carbide mineral used is a synthetic, sharp abrasive commonly applied for low-pressure tasks like paint preparation, delivering superior finish despite breaking down faster than aluminum oxide.
