The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EX3 Deburring Wheel measures 8" x 1" x 3" and features a convolute construction with a hard, durable design, making it ideal for applications requiring edge retention. It performs best when used on sharp edges or metal burrs and incorporates a unique resin system that resists smearing and heat buildup. This deburring wheel is effective for deburring, blending, finishing, and polishing edges on glass, hard and soft composites, and various metals commonly found in builder's hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines. Due to its hard density, the EX3 is not recommended for applications needing conformability or finishing of flat surfaces. It is available with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is a synthetic, very sharp material suited for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing and produces a finer finish but breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, which is blocky, hard, and provides a high cut rate with long life. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives combine abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating an abrasive system that delivers consistent performance throughout the product's life. The open-web material runs cool and is resistant to loading, maintaining abrasive effectiveness by limiting fiber clogging.
