The Scotch-Brite™ EX3 deburring wheel is a convolute-constructed, hard, durable deburring wheel designed for applications where edge retention is crucial. It excels when consistently presented with sharp edges or metal burrs, thanks to a unique resin system that resists smearing and heat buildup. This wheel effectively deburrs, blends, finishes, and polishes edges on a variety of materials, including glass, hard and soft composites, and metals, making it suitable for industries such as builder's hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines. Available with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, the silicon carbide option is known for its sharpness and is ideally suited for low-pressure applications like paint prep and finishing, while aluminum oxide offers a high cut-rate and long life. Although silicon carbide breaks down quicker, it yields a finer finish. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives feature unique surface conditioning products where abrasives are incorporated into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, ensuring consistent results throughout the product's life. The open-web material operates at cooler temperatures and is load-resistant, minimizing fiber clogging and maintaining performance. The Scotch-Brite™ EX3 is not recommended for applications requiring conformability and finishing of flat surfaces.
