The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EX2 deburring wheel measures 6" x 1/2" x 1" and features a medium grit silicon carbide abrasive mineral. This convolute-constructed wheel offers mid-range aggressiveness and hardness, designed for deburring, edge radius, blending, polishing, and finishing. It performs best when used on sharp edges or metal burrs, combining mineral aggressiveness and density hardness to provide moderate conformability, wheel hardness, and edge retention. The unique resin system minimizes smearing and heat build-up, while the open-web construction helps the wheel run cool and resist loading, reducing part discoloration and warping and extending wheel life. The EX2 wheel is available in both fine and medium grades and with abrasives of silicon carbide or aluminum oxide; silicon carbide offers a sharper cut ideal for low-pressure applications such as paint prep and finishing and breaks down faster for a finer finish, while aluminum oxide provides a higher cut rate and longer life. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating a system that consistently delivers results throughout the product's life. The open-web material keeps the wheel cool and load-resistant, limiting clogging of fibers and maintaining cutting performance. The wheel is suitable for applications including blending, deburring, finishing, flat finishing, and polishing of builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, and plumbing fixtures.
