Tripp Lite's AVR550U line-interactive UPS provides complete protection for PCs, workstations, and other sensitive electronics within an ultra-compact, mountable housing. The unit prevents data loss and system downtime by offering battery-supported AC output during blackouts and automatic voltage regulation (AVR) during brownouts and over voltages. It includes eight output receptacles, with two widely spaced to accommodate large transformer plugs without blocking other outlets. Four of the outlets feature full battery support and surge suppression to protect computers, monitors, and vital system components from power loss, while the remaining four outlets provide surge suppression only, suited for printers and peripherals that do not require battery support. The UPS is equipped with single-line telephone suppression jacks for modems, fax machines, and other equipment connected via standard dial-up or DSL RJ-11 phone lines. A USB port, along with an included cable and PowerAlert monitoring software, allows for safe unattended system shutdown in cases of extended power failure. The HID-compliant USB interface integrates seamlessly with built-in power management and auto shutdown features for Windows and Mac OS X systems. The device features an audible alarm and front panel LEDs that provide status information regarding line and battery power operation, and it has a power handling ability of 550VA/300 watts, supporting entry-level PCs for up to 17 minutes during power failures.
