The ALTAIR® 5X gas detector is designed to measure up to 6 gases simultaneously and features an integrated PID sensor for VOC detection. It utilizes advanced MSA Xcell® sensor technology, ensuring faster response times, greater stability, accuracy, a longer service life, and cost savings throughout the instrument's lifespan. The gas detector is housed in a rugged overmolded polycarbonate casing, providing exceptional durability and the ability to withstand a 10-ft. (3m) drop, and is IP65-certified. A field-proven integral pump ensures consistent gas flow without the concerns associated with externally-attached components. The device is equipped with high-performance Xcell® sensors that have a longer lifespan, and an optional motion alert feature notifies others if the user becomes immobile. The PID option enables accurate and reliable VOC response with programmable reference factors. Additionally, it has large buttons and a bright display for easy operation, even when users are wearing gloves, and an exclusive end-of-sensor warning alerts users when the sensor is nearing the end of its life. The ALTAIR® 5X is compatible with MSA Link™ software for data transmission to a computer and works with the GALAXY® GX2 test system and MSA Link Pro software for fleet management. It also includes wireless Bluetooth as a standard feature. The device complies with UL Class 1, Division 1, ABCDFG, CSA C22.2 No. 157 Class I Division 1, Groups ABCD, CE ATEX II 2G, and ANZ Ex IA S I/IIC T4 standards.
