The Altair® 5X gas detector is engineered to measure up to 6 gases simultaneously and features an integrated PID sensor for VOC detection. Utilizing advanced MSA Xcell® sensor technology, this gas detector ensures faster response times, enhanced stability, improved accuracy, and a longer service life. Constructed with rugged overmolded polycarbonate housing, it boasts IP65 certification and can withstand a 10-ft. (3m) drop. The device includes a field-proven integral pump for consistent gas flow, motion alert feature, and a PID option for reliable VOC response with programmable reference factors. User-friendly large buttons and a bright display facilitate operation even when wearing gloves, while an exclusive end-of-sensor warning alerts users when sensor life is nearing its end. Additional functionalities include compatibility with MSA Link™ software for data transmission to a computer, integration with the Galaxy® GX2 test system, MSA Link Pro software for fleet management, and standard wireless Bluetooth connectivity. The gas detector complies with UL913 for Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D; Class II, Division 1, T4; and CSA C22.2 No. 157 for the same groups, as well as CSA C22.2 No. 152 and M1984 combustible performance. Alarm settings are specified as LEL Alarm 1 at 10%, Alarm 2 at 20%; O2 Alarm 1 at 19.5%, Alarm 2 at 23%; CO Alarm 1 at 25 PPM, Alarm 2 at 100 PPM; and H2S Alarm 1 at 10 PPM, Alarm 2 at 15 PPM.
