These filters utilize progressive density glass or poly filter media, with a heavy-duty frame and reinforced corners for enhanced strength and durability. The fiberglass media is composed of high-grade progressively dense glass fibers, where the air entry side features open coarse fibers and the air exit side consists of tighter fibers. This dual density configuration facilitates proper depth loading and maximizes the utilization of the filter media. Each fiber is coated with a non-migrating adhesive to improve performance. The filters have a one-piece moisture-resistant craft board frame that simplifies installation, while the interlocking miter corners provide additional strength. The design eliminates the need for extra metal support, contributing to their environmentally friendly profile. A thermoplastic sealant bonds the filter media to the frame on both the upstream and downstream sides, preventing air bypass and adding rigidity to the filter.
