The Phoenix fire and water resistant file cabinets are designed to protect documents from fire, water, impact, and smoke damage, incorporating numerous insurance features for enhanced safety. Each cabinet includes a high security key lock with two keys, positioned on the top drawer to unlock all drawers simultaneously, along with a lock-bypass mechanism allowing selected drawers to remain unlocked. The cabinets are fire rated for 1-hour at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for documents and paper, tested at 1700 degrees Fahrenheit for fire resistance and explosion tested at 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, adhering to industry standards for fire protection. They are impact rated, having successfully undergone a test where the cabinet was dropped from 30 feet onto concrete rubble and reheated, simulating real fire conditions. The water resistant design features the Phoenix Labyrinth sealing system and special gaskets that prevent water damage from fire hose spray or sprinklers. Additionally, the cabinets provide digital protection for computer storage devices such as CDs, DVDs, USB drives, and memory sticks/cards. Each drawer functions as a separate insulated container with an inner steel jacket to prevent fire from spreading and restrict access to locked drawers if another drawer is open. The cabinets are finished with an extremely durable oven-baked textured enamel paint, ensuring long-lasting protection and aesthetic appeal.
