The E6013 mild steel "general purpose" rod is an all-position electrode designed for general purpose use with medium to shallow penetration. It produces medium to heavy slag that is easily removed, making it excellent for poorly fitted joints. Smaller sizes of the rod are well suited for low heat applications on thin metals. This rod is intended for use on all types of mild steel where ease of operation and good appearance are required, making it ideal for light gauge metal, sheet metal, duct work, and similar applications.
