ER70S-6 mild steel MIG welding wire is a high-strength mild steel MIG wire ideal for auto body repair and fabrication on most ferrous metals. It features a high level of manganese and silicon for superior weld quality, even on rusty or dirty steel, producing a smooth bead that requires less grinding. Not recommended for aluminum engines, this wire is color-coded yellow on the label. The specifications include a required shielding gas of Argon/CO2, a recommended polarity of DCEP reverse polarity, a weight of 2 lbs. (0.907 kg), a diameter of .035 inches (0.889 millimeters), and a tensile strength of 70,000 psi.
