The XSH04ZB model is designed for cutting and ripping applications, making it suitable for contractors looking for a compact solution in framing, roofing, and formwork. This sub-compact 6-1/2" circular saw features a compact and ergonomic design measuring only 10-5/8" in length and weighing 6.4 lbs (with the 18V LXT® compact 2.0Ah battery, battery and charger sold separately). Equipped with a Makita-built brushless motor, it delivers up to 5,000 RPM and offers a superior power-to-weight ratio. The saw incorporates Automatic Speed Change™ technology, which adjusts cutting speed and torque under load to optimize cutting performance. The efficient brushless motor is electronically controlled to provide up to 50% longer run time compared to non-brushless motors; during runtime testing, the XSH04 achieved up to 174 cross-cuts per charge in 2x10 SPF lumber using a 5.0Ah battery (sold separately). For extended run time, users can utilize various high amp-hour 18V LXT® batteries, including 2.0Ah (BL1820B), 3.0Ah (BL1830B), 4.0Ah (BL1840B), 5.0Ah (BL1850B), or 6.0Ah (BL1860B), all sold separately. Additional features include dual L.E.D. lights, an electric brake, a built-in tether notch (tether sold separately), and Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) for enhanced dust and water resistance in tough job site conditions. The rear dust port is designed for easy connection to a vacuum system, with dust extraction accessories available separately.
