The Rotary File Cabinet Starter Unit, designed for legal files, features two shelves and is finished in black. This innovative rotary file cabinet allows for efficient organization of documents by utilizing a double-sided, rotating shelf design that accommodates more than twice the files in less space compared to traditional systems, ensuring quick and easy access to stored materials. The specifications include an EZ2® base constructed from 13 gauge steel with 13 gauge steel-formed U-channel reinforcements, featuring channels that measure 4" wide by 3-1/2" deep across the full length and width of the base for structural support. The base is further strengthened by 11 gauge welded steel gussets at each corner and includes four adjustable leveling feet for stability. This base mechanism allows for 90° indexing of the cabinet without the need for foot pedals. The cabinet’s uprights consist of four posts made from 11 gauge steel, equipped with dual durometer PVC closing strips, bolted to the base with two 1/4" - 20 flat head bolts per post. Each unit is fitted with a lock assembly on the right front post, featuring a lock bar made from 3/8" diameter steel rod for enhanced durability. The locks are random-keyed, field removable for easy key changes, and can be installed on either side of the unit, allowing it to be secured in both open and closed positions. The EZ2® rotary bottom is supported by hardened 5/8" diameter steel ball bearings, with the letter size unit having a 19-1/4" diameter bearing cage containing 22 ball bearings, and the legal size unit featuring a 24" diameter bearing cage with 44 ball bearings, enabling smooth rotation on a 3/4" diameter pin.
