The Rotary File Cabinet Adder Unit is designed for legal-sized files and features five shelves in a light gray finish. This innovative rotary file allows for efficient use of space by housing more than twice the files compared to traditional filing systems while providing fast and easy access. The cabinet's base, constructed from 13 gauge steel with 13 gauge steel-formed U-channel reinforcements, features channels measuring 4" wide x 3-1/2" deep that run the full length and width of the base, and are MIG welded to create a rigid structure. Each corner is supported by an 11 gauge welded steel gusset for added strength, and four adjustable leveling feet enable leveling from the top of the base. The base mechanism offers 90° indexing without the need for a foot pedal. The unit includes four upright posts made from 11 gauge steel, bolted to the base with two 1/4" - 20 flat head bolts per post, and equipped with dual durometer PVC closing strips. A lock assembly, lock bar made from 3/8" diameter steel rod, and random-keyed locks are conveniently located on the right front post, allowing for easy key changes and locking in either the open or closed position. The rotary bottom utilizes 5/8" diameter hardened steel ball bearings, with a 19-1/4" diameter bearing cage for letter size units containing 22 ball bearings, and a 24" diameter bearing cage for legal size units containing 44 ball bearings. The rotor bottom pivots on a 3/4" diameter pin against a mating surface.
