The Rotary File Cabinet Starter Unit in Black is designed for efficient space utilization, featuring a double-sided, rotating shelf unit that accommodates more than twice the files of a traditional filing system while ensuring quick and easy access to stored materials. The specifications include a base constructed from 13 gauge steel with 13 gauge steel-formed U-channel reinforcements, featuring a 4" wide x 3-1/2" deep cross-section and MIG welded for structural rigidity. The corners are reinforced with 11 gauge steel gussets, and four adjustable leveling feet facilitate leveling from the top. The cabinet provides 90° indexing without the need for a foot pedal. It includes four upright posts made from 11 gauge steel, secured to the base with 1/4" - 20 flat head bolts, and features dual durometer PVC closing strips. A lock assembly on the right front post ensures security, with a durable lock bar made from 3/8" diameter steel rod and field removable core locks that can be installed on either side of the unit, allowing it to be locked in open or closed positions. The rotary bottom supports the shelves using 5/8" diameter hardened steel ball bearings, with the letter size unit containing a 19-1/4" diameter bearing cage holding 22 ball bearings and the legal size unit featuring a 24" diameter bearing cage with 44 ball bearings. The rotary bottom pivots on a 3/4" diameter pin for smooth operation.
