The Rotary File Cabinet Starter Unit is designed to accommodate letter-sized documents and features 8 shelves in a light gray finish. This innovative double-sided, rotating shelf unit optimizes space by holding more than twice the files compared to traditional filing systems while ensuring quick and easy access to stored materials. The base is constructed from 13-gauge steel and includes 13-gauge steel-formed U-channel reinforcements with a cross-section of 4" wide x 3-1/2" deep, providing a robust structure capable of supporting the weight of the cabinet. At each corner, 11-gauge welded steel gussets reinforce the base, which is equipped with four adjustable leveling feet and offers 90° indexing without the need for a foot pedal. The cabinet also features four upright posts made from 11-gauge steel, with dual durometer PVC closing strips, bolted directly to the unit base. A lock assembly, including a locking rod and random-keyed locks with a field-removable core, is conveniently positioned on the right front post. The locks can be installed on both sides of the unit, allowing it to be secured in either the open or closed position. The rotary bottom is supported by 5/8" diameter hardened steel ball bearings, with the letter-size unit having a 19-1/4" diameter bearing cage and 22 ball bearings, while the legal-size variant includes a 24" diameter bearing cage with 44 ball bearings. The rotary bottom pivots on a 3/4" diameter pin and a matin for smooth operation.
