The Rotary File Cabinet Starter Unit is designed for legal-sized files and features five shelves in a light gray finish. This innovative double-sided, rotating shelf unit can accommodate more than twice as many files in less space compared to traditional filing systems, ensuring efficient access to stored materials. The specifications for the unit include a robust EZ2® base constructed from 13-gauge steel with U-channel reinforcements featuring dimensions of 4" wide x 3-1/2" deep. The channels provide substantial rigidity and support, enhanced by 11-gauge steel gussets at each corner. The base includes adjustable leveling feet for optimal height adjustments and allows for 90° indexing without the need for a foot pedal. The unit is equipped with four vertical posts made of 11-gauge steel, featuring dual durometer PVC closing strips, and secured to the base with two 1/4" - 20 flat head bolts per post. A convenient lock assembly on the right front post includes a random-keyed lock bar made from 3/8" diameter steel for durability, with removable cores for easy key changes, and can be installed on either side of the unit, allowing the cabinet to be locked in both open and closed positions. The rotary bottom utilizes a system of hardened steel ball bearings, with the letter size unit featuring a 19-1/4" diameter bearing cage containing 22 ball bearings, and the legal size unit containing 44 ball bearings within a 24" diameter bearing cage. This design ensures smooth rotation and reliable functionality.
