The Rotary File Cabinet Starter Unit is designed for legal-size documents and features seven shelves in a sleek black finish. This rotary file cabinet offers an innovative double-sided, rotating shelf design that allows for the storage of over twice the files in a compact space compared to traditional filing systems, while facilitating quick and easy access to all materials. The specifications include an EZ2® base constructed from 13-gauge steel, reinforced with 13-gauge steel-formed U-channel reinforcements that measure 4" wide x 3-1/2" deep, extending the full length and width of the base. The channels are MIG welded to create a robust structure capable of supporting the cabinet’s weight, complemented by welded 11-gauge gussets at each corner for added strength. The unit features four adjustable leveling feet for ease of leveling from the top and provides a 90° indexing mechanism that eliminates the need for a foot pedal. Each unit comprises four upright posts made from 11-gauge steel with dual durometer PVC closing strips, bolted to the unit base, and a lock assembly located on the right front post, ensuring security with a random-keyed lock bar formed from a 3/8" diameter steel rod. The locks are field removable for convenient key changes and can be installed on either side of the unit, allowing it to be locked in both open and closed positions. The rotary bottom rides on the base, supported by 5/8" diameter hardened steel ball bearings, with a letter-size unit featuring a 19-1/4" diameter bearing cage containing 22 ball bearings, and a legal-size unit with a 24" diameter bearing cage housing 44 ball bearings. The rotor bottom pivots on a 3/4" diameter pin and a mating steel component.
