It features a 135° P3 split point that is self-centering, reducing thrust and facilitating easier penetration, while sizes smaller than .0625" do not include a split point. The shanks of sizes 3/16" and larger come with three flats for tighter chucking. The black and gold oxide surface finish enhances wear resistance and adds lubricity, which improves chip flow.
