The heavy-duty construction of this drill kit is designed for drilling in tougher materials and is manufactured from high-speed steel. It features a 135° P3 split point that is self-centering, which reduces thrust and allows for easier penetration; however, sizes smaller than .0625" do not have a split point. The drill bits are equipped with three flats on the shanks for sizes 3/16" and larger, providing tighter chucking. The black and gold oxide surface finish enhances wear resistance and adds lubricity, which improves chip flow. This kit is suitable for drilling in various materials, including stainless steel, tool steel, alloy steel, and cast iron.
