The Dayco ELA' (Elastic) Poly Rib Belt is specifically designed for two, three, and four point drives that require self-tensioning belts. Unlike standard poly rib belts, these specially engineered elastic belts feature self-tensioning capabilities essential for specific OE drives. Vehicles manufactured with stretch belts must use stretch belts for replacements, as they are not interchangeable with standard belts of the same size. The Dayco ELA' belts are constructed from proprietary EPDM material designed to elongate over a fixed pulley system while maintaining the necessary belt tension throughout their lifespan. The backbone of the Dayco ELA' belt is its polyamide tensile member, providing high elongation for installation alongside proper tension maintenance to transmit accessory loads. This construction includes wear-resistant EPDM rib material and a highly elastic EPDM cushion rubber that encases the polyamide tensile cord, ensuring adhesion and flexibility for enduring performance. The installation of stretch belts involves unique instructions that may require a specialized tool or a simple zip tie, and should not be attempted through prying the belt onto the pulleys.
