The 3M™ 61500122538 Scotch-Brite™ EXL unitized wheel measures 6" x 1" x 1/2" and is made of silicon carbide with a specification of 2S. It is designed for applications such as blending and deburring, suitable for industries including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines. This unitized wheel provides a clean edge without smearing, thus reducing the need for additional cleanup and preparation. It is optimized for use on a die grinder and minimizes heat buildup during operation, making it ideal for heat-sensitive materials. The wheel is filled with abrasive minerals that effectively smooth edges of metal, plastic, and composites. It is available with aluminum oxide in various grades: fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse, as well as silicon carbide in very fine and fine grades. The unique Scotch-Brite™ design incorporates abrasives into non-woven nylon fibers, creating an abrasive system that ensures consistent performance throughout the product's lifespan. The open-web material used is load resistant, helping to maintain cutting performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibers.
