The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL unitized wheel measures 6" x 1/2" x 1" and is made with silicon carbide in a 2S fin configuration, designed to deliver a clean edge without smearing, thereby reducing the need for additional cleanup and preparation. It is optimized for use on a die grinder, minimizing heat buildup during operation, which makes it suitable for heat-sensitive materials. The wheel contains abrasive minerals embedded in non-woven nylon fibers, forming an abrasive system that maintains consistent performance throughout its life by limiting clogging through its open-web, load-resistant material. This unitized wheel is intended for applications such as blending and deburring and is effective on metal, plastic, and composites. It is available in aluminum oxide abrasives in fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse grades, and silicon carbide abrasives in very fine and fine grades. Typical industries for use include builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
