The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ metal finishing wheel measures 6" in diameter, 1" in width, and 1" in core diameter, featuring aluminum oxide 5A medium abrasive. Designed for use on softer metals like aluminum, copper, and brass, these wheels blend minor surface imperfections and handling marks while providing a decorative finish for products such as builder's hardware and plumbing fixtures. Typically used on stationary machinery, the wheels are available in diameters ranging from 6 to 16 inches and widths of 1/2 inch and greater. The convolutedly wound, highly conformable wheel runs smoothly and delivers professional finishing results. Available in grades CRS and MED, the wheel's aluminum oxide abrasive offers high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing on a wide variety of substrates including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers in an open-web material that runs cool and resists loading, maintaining high cutting performance by limiting clogging.
