The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Strip Disc measures 8 inches in diameter with a 1/2-inch thickness and features an extra-coarse (XCS) silicon carbide mineral embedded in nylon fibers, providing sharp cutting and a bright finish. This abrasive is designed for high-production environments, particularly suitable for coating and corrosion removal, paint stripping, rust removal, and sealant removal. It uses a standard attachment system compatible with backstands, right angle grinders, or die grinders. The open nylon web construction allows debris to escape, enhancing load resistance and prolonging service life by continuously exposing fresh mineral for consistent cutting performance and finishes. Silicon carbide mineral is sharper than aluminum oxide, cutting more aggressively but breaking down faster while leaving a finer finish. The disc meets the needs of industries such as aerospace, general industrial, marine, metalworking, and MRO.
