Eyewash additive is designed to preserve water in portable, self-contained eyewash stations, preventing bacterial growth and helping to avoid additional damage to injured eyes, while also extending the useful life of the eyewash water. The product is labeled in accordance with USFDA regulations and is simple to use: just fill a clean eyewash station with potable water and add the additive solution. Each 8-ounce bottle can preserve from 5 to 20 gallons of water and maintains water quality for up to 120 days, thereby reducing the frequency of water changes and minimizing maintenance to ensure compliance with ANSI Z358.1-2014, section 5.5.3, which recommends weekly visual checks of flushing fluid. The tamper-evident seal provides additional security. The eyewash additive is available in packs of four 8-ounce bottles and is compatible with Hughes models 16GFEW, 15GEW, 28GEW, and 38GEW, as well as other portable or self-contained eyewashes.
