The self-draining shower system is designed for use in hot climates to mitigate the risk of shock and scalding from standing water overheated by solar radiation. It includes a self-draining valve located directly above the water inlet, accompanied by a bleed pipe that facilitates the drainage of hot water into the ground. The standpipe fills only when the shower is activated and drains immediately after the valve closes, preventing stagnant water and associated risks. This system features high-performance quarter-turn ball valves made of 316L stainless steel, designed for durability in harsh environments, with low operating torque for reliable on/off operation in emergencies. The integral heavy-duty stainless steel stop-plate ensures resilience during rough operation. A coated stainless steel shower pull handle with a nylon valve connection allows for easy grip and activation. The removable overhead nozzle, made of durable nylon, ensures high flow rates while meeting or exceeding ANSI standards, offering optimal spray distribution and minimizing the risk of insect nesting. It also includes an open ABS plastic bowl eye/face wash with a high flow rate compliant with ANSI standards, featuring aerated diffusers, fine mesh strainers, and an individual flow controller for a soft, scrubbing action. The twin spray nozzles come with dust covers that are released upon activation via the push plate, and an adjustable flow regulator valve is included for varying accident severity. The system's solid construction with stainless steel pipework enhances corrosion resistance, and an optional foot treadle can be added for secondary eyewash activation.
