Use self-draining showers in hot climates to prevent the risk of shock and scalding from standing water overheated by solar radiation. The self-draining valve is situated directly above the water inlet and a bleed pipe is fitted above this, allowing hot water to drain into the ground. The standpipe only fills with water when the shower is activated and drains once again when the valve is closed, ensuring there is no stagnant water to overheat and cause further injury to the operator. The system features specially designed, high-performance quarter-turn ball valves made of 316L stainless steel to endure the harshest environments and site conditions, with low operating torque for reliable, easy on/off operation during emergencies. An integral heavy-duty stainless steel stop-plate handles rough operation without failure. The shower includes a durable, coated stainless steel pull handle with a nylon valve connection that is easy to grip and activate for immediate water drenching. It has a removable, self-draining overhead nozzle designed for high flow rates that meet or exceed ANSI standards, made of durable nylon material for optimal spray distribution and reduced insect nesting potential. Additionally, there is an open ABS plastic bowl eye/face wash with a high ANSI-compliant flow rate, including aerated diffusers with fine mesh strainers and an individual flow controller for a soft scrubbing action. The unit features twin spray nozzles with dust covers that pop off when the eye wash is activated via the push plate, and an easy-to-reach flow regulator valve adjusts to suit the severity of the accident. Solid construction using galvanized mild steel pipework is standard, and an optional foot treadle can be added for a secondary means of eyewash activation; some assembly may be required.
