One of the leading causes of industrial fires is the improper storage and handling of flammable liquids. The Justrite Standard Sure-Grip® EX flammable safety cabinet with self-close doors (model 896020) is designed to safely store flammable liquids. Its exterior dimensions are 65 in H x 34 in W x 34 in D (1651 mm H x 864 mm W x 864 mm D) and can store 60 gal (227 L) of flammable liquids. This model is constructed with a sturdy 18-gauge (1-mm) thick steel double-wall, featuring 1.5 in (38 mm) of insulating air space for fire resistance. The fully welded, not riveted, construction ensures the squareness of the unit for a longer life and offers greater protection in a fire by reducing air gaps. High-performance, self-closing doors open to 140 degrees, and a patented, concealed self-close mechanism provides obstruction-free access to shelf space. The doors are designed to self-index, guaranteeing they will close in tight sequence, while continuous piano hinges ensure smooth closing every time. When used properly, safety cabinets with self-closing doors automatically shut in case of a fire. Under fire conditions, when the ambient temperature reaches 165 F (74 C), fusible links hold the doors open and melt to allow them to swing shut. The self-latching system engages with three stainless steel bullet-slams located at the top, bottom, and center of the door. For added security, each cabinet features a U-Loc™ handle that requires no manual rotation to engage the mandatory latch, and includes a cylinder lock and key set or allows for the use of a padlock. Trilingual Haz-Alert™ reflective warning labels that read "Flammable Keep Fire Away" are highly visible under fire conditions or during power outages when illuminated. Model 896020 features two shelves and complies with various safety and health regulations.
