The space-saving Type I oval polyethylene safety cans are designed to enhance shelf storage capacity by 30%. These cans feature a trigger mechanism that enables the pouring of small quantities of liquids and are constructed from high-density polyethylene, making them resistant to denting, puncturing, and chipping while standing up to tough acids and corrosives as well as heat. Each can is equipped with a leak-tight, self-closing cap that prevents spillage and automatically vents to guard against explosion. The cap, pressure-relief mechanism, and flame arrester collaborate to prevent ignition sources from entering the can while allowing liquid flow in and out without restriction. The cans are fitted with stainless steel hardware and include a flame arrester for superior chemical resistance. The white polyethylene design allows for liquid level visibility for dark-colored chemicals and the cans are FM approved. Additionally, a conductive carbon insert is embedded in the rib of the containers to complete a ground path between the cover assembly and the flame arrester, providing proper grounding when used with a grounding strip to prevent static arcs during filling or pouring. The cans comply with OSHA and NFPA Code 30 regulations, with a fill/pour hole measuring 1-7/16 inches.
