The Kohler® Command Pro® commercial engine is a 4-cycle, gasoline-powered unit featuring an overhead valve (OHV) design with a cast iron cylinder liner and aluminum block, delivering professional-grade power and performance. Its construction includes a Quad-Clean™ all-season four-stage cyclonic air filter, ensuring effective engine protection in challenging conditions, along with a large-capacity metal fuel tank that allows for extended work periods with less frequent refueling. This engine supports both powering and repowering of equipment without expensive modifications. It also incorporates a built-in warm-air system for efficient winter operation, a dual ball bearing steel-forged and hardened crankshaft, and features like an electronic ignition and a large-capacity muffler with a heat shield and spark arrestor. Additionally, the engine is CARB Tier 3 certified and offers increased displacement with a balance shaft for models rated at 14 HP. Other specifications include dual oil fills and drains, an automatic low-oil engine shutdown system, a Stellite®-faced exhaust valve, a carbon canister fuel cap, and a water trap to separate moisture from fuel. The design features a swirl-induction combustion chamber, easy-access throttle, choke, and fuel shutoff, automatic compression release, and a mechanical governor. The sound-deadened alloy crankcase, carburetor bowl drain, high-inertia flywheel, silenced air intake, and an indexable Easy-Pull™ recoil starter further enhance usability and performance, while the Fuel Secure™ auto fuel shutoff adds an extra layer of convenience.
