The Kohler® Command Pro® engine is a commercial-grade, 4-cycle gasoline engine featuring an overhead valve (OHV) design, cast iron cylinder liner, and aluminum block. Key technical attributes include a Quad-Clean™ all-season four-stage cyclonic air filter for effective engine protection, a large-capacity metal fuel tank for extended operation between refills, and a forged-steel crankshaft with dual ball bearings for enhanced durability. The engine is equipped with an electronic ignition system, a large-capacity muffler with heat shield and spark arrestor, and three fuel filters (fill neck, in-tank, and carburetor inlet) for optimal performance. Additionally, it features an automatic low oil engine shutdown system, a stellite®-faced exhaust valve, a carbon canister fuel cap, and a water trap to separate moisture in fuel. Its design includes a swirl-induction combustion chamber, an easy-access throttle, choke and fuel shutoff, an automatic compression release, and a mechanical governor. The engine dimensions and specifications include a balance shaft rated at 14 HP, dual oil fills and drains, a sound-deadened alloy crankcase, a carburetor bowl drain, a high-inertia flywheel, a silenced air intake, and an indexable Easy-Pull™ recoil starter. The engine is CARB Tier 3 certified and offers the option for power or repower without expensive modifications.
