Ruffneck™ Defender® XT-311 and XT-312 explosion-proof heavy-duty thermostats are designed for controlling heating only, cooling only, or ventilation systems in demanding industrial environments such as oil refineries, petrochemical plants, pulp and paper mills, coal mines, grain elevators, and hazardous waste storage facilities. The thermostats feature a UL-CUL certification, an all-aluminum exterior with no breakable external plastic parts, and no exposed copper or brass, making them suitable for H2S environments. Compact and lightweight, they include precision die-cast components for greater consistency and better quality, a fast-acting bimetal sensing element that is reliable and unaffected by altitude, and a rugged build free from delicate coils or bellows. The electrical rating is 22 amps RES with a maximum of 480 VAC, and they are operational within a temperature range of 36°F to 82°F (2°C to 28°C) with a differential of 2.5°F (1.5°C). Each thermostat has a net weight of 2.1 lbs (0.95 kg) and a conduit opening of 3/4" - 14 NPT. The product comes with a 3-year warranty, which is the longest trouble-free warranty in the industry, and is environmentally safe, being CFC and mercury-free. Designed for use with the Ruffneck™ FX series explosion-proof forced air unit heaters, they provide a wider range of applications while ensuring rugged reliability.
