The E71T-GS self flux-core welding wire for mild steel is designed for all-position welding and is particularly effective for single pass applications at high travel speeds. The wire features a pink color coding on the label and operates without the need for shielding gas, making it especially suitable for outdoor use, as it eliminates concerns about wind affecting gas shielding and causing porosity. Recommended polarity for use is DCEN straight, and it comes in a weight of 10 lbs. (4.54 kg) with a diameter of .030 inches. The tensile strength is measured at 79,000 psi, and the wire is self-shielded, allowing for effective welding on rusty, dirty, and painted materials. Additionally, it produces moderate to low spatter, with the use of an argon/CO2 mix further reducing spatter.
